Shadow is Tortie of the Week

Our Tortie of the Week is Shadow, who lives with her owners Pam and Chris in Devon, England. She is a brand new member of the Tortie Club!

Shadow adopted Pam and Chris four years ago when her grandmother wouldn’t let her in the house when she was born.

They found her sheltering at the bottom of their garden, but ran away if they got too close. Pam noticed her eating the hedgehog food they had left out and soon she starting putting down cat biscuits for her.

As time went on Shadow got braver and eventually stopped running away and ventured into the house. They contacted her original owners who were happy for them to feed and care for her.

After a couple of months of Shadow being with them full time, they took her to the vet who diagnosed that she had pyometra, a condition which required an operation. If it had not been treated it could have been fatal.

Shadow is now fully recovered, she has plenty of tortitude and loves to be around Pam and Chris - but she makes sure she has their full attention if they are either at work or play.

She is now completely setted in to their lovely home.
