Dyxie is Tortie of the Week

Our Tortie of the Week is Dyxie, a 4 ½ year old tortie who lives with her owner Lesliein Arlington, Texas.

She and her brother, Mac (orange tabby, came to them right after Leslie had lost her other tortie Bella due to kidney disease.

Leslie was looking for another tortie since she just loved their demeanor and colouring. She actually noticed Dyxie’s sister first on PetFinder, but when she saw Dyxie sitting in a corner watching her siblings play she knew that she had to have her! She was the runt but she holds her own even with her older and much bigger brother.

She is tiny, only being about 6lbs but gets the zoomies every morning. Before Leslie goes to work, she demands her belly rubs and flops down on the living room floor.

There was a slight scare last year when she lost some weight and she was not her normal energetic self. They found out her liver was failing, but after treatment and constant care she is now back to her normal Dyxie self and they couldn’t be happier!

She follows Leslie around and has a tail twitch she does whenever she sees her that is just adorable!
