Abby is Tortie of the Week

Our Tortie of the Week is AbbyGale, generally called Abby or Abs who lives with her owner Judith.

Abby

Abby is now 18 and was adopted by Judith in December 2024. After living in her previous home for most of her life, there was a death and her surviving human had to make new living arrangements where cats weren’t allowed, so she was returned to her local shelter.

Judith’s sweet tabby ‘Tiger’ had died at 18, and while she missed him greatly and knew he couldn’t be replaced, she missed being a Cat Mom.

She didn’t want to commit to a young cat, so when she heard about Abby’s situation she took her in.

Abby is rather aloft and very particular about how she likes to be touched - her head. She loves on her own terms. Abby is also very nosey and any open door has a ‘Welcome’ sign on it.

They live where there is a common hall and she knows all the neighbors, and if a door is open she heads for it. She will check out each room and then she is out the door. Judith likes to say she is the local Security. Two neighbors leave nightly treats for her and she is very vocal about her need to check out those doors!
